This should be a relatively easy fight Joe Mesi. The only advantage Williamson may have come Sept 27 is his height and reach advantage. That should keep him from getting KO'd for at least 3 or 4 rounds.

Joe Mesi is the stronger and quicker fighter here. Mesi is explosive and he should have Williamson quaking in his boots when the bell sounds.

I had the privilege of witnessing Williamson in his last bout versus Robert Wiggins. Wiggins not only came close to knocking out Williamson, but he broke his jaw in the process. I feel that Williamson will lose here because he is not quick enough and he is not aggressive enough to beat a Joe Mesi.

Although Williamson's promoter speaks so highly of his fighter, there must be a good reason for Williamson's lacking a significant fight on his resume by age 35, late start or not. He has not beaten anyone of significance, yet everyone speaks of his "big right hand". Well anyone can have a big punch against much lesser opposition.

Mesi just has too much going for him to lose to Williamson. If it goes to the scorecards, I think Mesi has an excellent chance of getting the decision because I am sure he will not allow Williamson to make this a one-sided affair. I just don't see it. Besides, Mesi has been more active than Williamson.

Although Williamson may speak with confidence on this bout, he is really just looking forward to his largest payday ever. Come September 27, Williamson will be as rusty as Byrd appeared in his bout versus Oquendo and he may have to pay the ultimate price.

The line for Mesi is currently -220, but it should approach -300 by the date of the fight.

Good Luck!!!
